Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about temporary power poles, jobsite internet, permits, pricing, and timelines in Los Angeles.

How fast can you set a temporary power pole in Los Angeles?

Standard turnaround from signed quote to energized service is 5 business days, assuming LADBS and the utility cooperate on schedule. Rush installs in 2–3 days are available — call dispatch.

Do you handle the LADWP, SCE, or other utility paperwork?

Yes. We submit the service request, coordinate the meter spot, and chase the energization release. You get one point of contact for the entire process. We work daily with LADWP, SCE, Glendale Water & Power, Burbank Water & Power, and Pasadena Water & Power.

What amperage should I order for my jobsite?

Most single-family remodels run on 100A. Multifamily and small commercial usually need 200A. Tower cranes, batch plants, or large MEP loads call for 400A. Our PM will spec it for you on the survey call.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Los Angeles Temp Power is fully licensed and insured for the temporary power and jobsite internet work we perform across Los Angeles County. Certificates of insurance are available on request for any project that needs us added as additional insured.

Can I rent the pole instead of buying it?

Yes. We offer monthly rental on the pedestal assembly with the install and removal bundled in. Most projects under 18 months come out cheaper renting.

How fast is the jobsite internet, really?

On a properly engineered bonded 5G/LTE setup in LA, expect 150–400 Mbps down and 30–80 Mbps up at most addresses. Heavy industrial zones with weak cell coverage may get less. We site-survey before we quote.

Will the jobsite internet work where there's no fiber?

Almost always. Our bonded 5G/LTE routers combine multiple carriers into one connection, so even raw lots in the canyons or industrial zones get usable speeds for plans, cameras, and calls.

Can I get power and internet from the same company?

That is exactly what we do. One vendor, one PM, one schedule, one invoice. The smartest GCs bundle both so the trailer is fully provisioned the day it lands on site.

What if my power pole gets hit by a vehicle or vandalized?

Call our 24/7 emergency dispatch line. We have on-call crews staged across LA County and respond to safety emergencies around the clock.

Do you handle the inspection?

Yes. We schedule the LADBS rough and final inspections, meet the inspector on site, and walk them through the install. Our first-pass inspection rate is 99.4%.

What happens at project closeout?

Once the permanent service is energized, we coordinate the disconnect with the utility, demo the temp pole cleanly, restore the site, and file the close-out paperwork with LADBS so your project records are clean.
