Temporary Construction Power Poles in Los Angeles

UL-listed 100A, 200A, and 400A power pedestals built to LADBS, LADWP, and SCE standards — set on your site and energized in as little as 5 business days.

What is a temporary construction power pole?

A temporary power pole — sometimes called a construction service pedestal or temp service — is a self-contained, code-compliant electrical service installed at the start of a project so trades have lights, tools, and equipment power before the permanent service is energized. In Los Angeles, every active jobsite needs one, whether it’s a hillside remodel, a multifamily ground-up, or an industrial tilt-up.

We design and install temporary services that pass LADBS inspection on the first try, that LADWP and SCE will energize without callbacks, and that hold up for the full duration of your project — through summer heat, winter rain, and the inevitable forklift incident.

Power pole configurations

100 Amp Service

Right-sized for single-family remodels, ADUs, light commercial tenant improvements, and small jobsites with a couple of trailers. Typically four 20A GFCI receptacles plus a 30A or 50A range outlet for tools.

200 Amp Service

The workhorse for multifamily projects, mid-size commercial, and any site with a trailer plus active trades pulling on the same service. Six receptacles standard, with sub-feed lugs available for trailers and tower lighting.

400 Amp Service

For ground-up projects with tower cranes, batch plants, large MEP loads, or multiple trailers. We size the service entrance conductors and meter base appropriately and coordinate with the utility on transformer capacity.

What’s included with every pole

  • UL-listed, serialized pedestal assembly with weatherproof enclosure
  • Utility-approved meter base (LADWP or SCE spec, depending on territory)
  • GFCI-protected receptacles with weatherproof while-in-use covers
  • Code-compliant grounding electrode system (ground rod, bond, label)
  • Service entrance conductors sized for your amperage and run length
  • Riser, weatherhead, and drip loop installed to utility standard
  • Inspection-ready documentation packet for LADBS

Permits and inspection

We pull the LADBS electrical permit (or the equivalent in your jurisdiction — Long Beach, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, county areas), schedule the rough and final inspections, walk the inspector through the install, and chase the utility company for the energization release. Our first-pass inspection rate is 99.4%.

Removal at project close

When the permanent service is energized, we coordinate the disconnect with the utility, demo the temp pole cleanly, restore the site, and file the close-out paperwork with LADBS so your project records are clean.

Power Pole FAQs

How long does the install take?

Crew time on site is typically half a day for a 100A or 200A service, and one full day for a 400A. From signed quote to energized, plan on 5 business days standard or 2–3 days for a rush.

Who pulls the permit — me or you?

We do. Our office files the LADBS electrical permit, schedules the inspections, and coordinates the utility release. You sign one authorization form and we handle the rest.

Can I rent the pole instead of buying it?

Yes. We offer monthly rental on the pedestal assembly with the install and removal bundled in. Most projects under 18 months come out cheaper renting.

Do you handle SCE territory or just LADWP?

Both. We work daily with LADWP, SCE, Glendale Water & Power, Burbank Water & Power, and Pasadena Water & Power. Each utility has slightly different meter spec and release process — we know all of them.
